Risa A. Hiltermann

In 2010 the stars and moon aligned and I found time to indulge my long developing passion for Watercolor! I began attending workshops and have since refused to put down my brushes. My painting style has emerged to be realistic and detailed but I continually attempt to sever my left brain from the process. In my preferred pieces I enjoy producing vivid color and hope to portray emotion and movement to entice and capture the observer.

Around the age of eight I painted a Christmas mural, directly on the entry wall of my parent’s home. It remained there year round for all to see before redecorating five years later. During college, I earned money by painting business windows for holidays and promotions. For the most part, that was the extent of my experience as a painter.

Now that I have rekindled my inner artist, I plan to wander through the fun and beauty only art can bring. A cheerful member of 2 art associations, South Hill Artists and Northwest Watercolor Society, I hope to continue my advancement by surrounding myself with talented and creative people.
